Weekly Information

Good Afternoon,

There are only 9 days left of school... OMGosh... It is coming to an end so fast. I don't know about you, but I am not ready to say good-bye. We are going to cherish every minute.

State testing (SBAC) is OVER! That was a lot of work and the student did an AMAZING JOB! I am so proud of them all. Your test scores should be mailed to you  around the end of summer or beginning of next school year.

Homework next week - Same as this week - read nightly, rocket math, and practice for the play.

Play practice - Play practice is going great. Continue having your child study their lines. They need to have them mastered by Tuesday. The play will take place Thursday May 31 at 8:30 in the Multipurpose Room. We hope to see you there.

Dinning with Dad - Our Dining with Dad's event will take place on Monday June 4 from 8:30-9:00 in our classroom F5. Fliers are coming home today. Please let us know if you amazing dads can attend.

Summer Reading - Reading is one of the best things you and your child can do over the summer. Reading continues to help your child learn and grow. It is significantly more beneficial to brain growth than video games. I have my set of books piling up at home that I can't wait to get to this summer.  This year, just like last, our librarian will allow students to check out book over the summer. Please see, print, and fill out attached permission slip. summer books

Accelerated Reader

Your child should be at 100% of their goal by Thursday May 31.

It is best for your child to read 7 days a week for 20 minutes each night.

Accelerated Reader is a comprehension program. Your child is expected to read at least 20 minutes nightly, as well as about 20 minutes daily in class. They should be reading books that are at their level. Below are answer to frequently asked questions.

What is my child's reading level?

Each Trimester you will receive a printout that contains your child's ZPD(Zone of Proximal Development). This is their reading level. (This paper will go home at the beginning of each trimester.

How do I know if my child's book is at their level?

Log onto

You can search any book and see if it is within your child's ZPD.
